In Dublin's fair city

Traveling with a toddler is a bit nerve wracking. You never know what behavior you're going to get from one minute to the next. But as we waited for our luggage in Dublin, the man sitting behind us said towards MM "the best behaved child on the flight."  I think that is the best we could have hoped for on our day that started at 7am CST and was at about 11:30 CST as we were standing there. She only cried when she was tired, fussed when she was restless, but toys, books, food & the people around us kept her entertained. This kid knows no strangers. As we walked through the lobby to dinner last night (and at lunch yesterday) she waved to everyone around. And everyone ate it up!

After we collected our luggage and got some cash & drinks, we wandered over to where our hotel shuttle was waiting (thanks to the security guard who pointed us in the right direction). Got to the hotel & thank Mom for the early check-in, got to sleep by 7:20. We intended to sleep for just a few hours but hit snooze and off on the alarm and slept until 1 when I forced a all to get up so we could get somewhat of an adjusted sleep schedule. We got ready and headed back to the airport up catch the Airlink shuttle to he city centre. We got off a stop later than we intended but were able to easily get back where we wanted to go. Temple Bar. We wandered around and cranky Nathan kept asking when we were stopping to eat. I had something in mind and we soon found it. Gallagher's Boxty House. I had the 3-course early bird special... Currie parsnip soup, chicken with cream sauce wrapped in boxty and bread & butter pudding with rum ice cream. Nathan had a lamb hamburger with chips and a boxty with blue cheese butter. Millie really liked the blue cheese butter and dipped what she could in it. She shared our food & of course, her fav was the chips (she also ate most the tomatoes from Daddy's salad, thanks for sharing!)

After out late lunch we wandered around a bit & were going to catch the bus down to the Guinness store house. I wanted to figure out what stop we need to take so I stopped in the tourist info office (while Nathan went to the bookstore next door). Good thing I did cause the last entry was at 5pm and it was 5:02. We'll have to hit it on our last couple days here.

We decided to head back to the hotel & relax and get things ready for the rest of our trip. We took a different bus back to the airport, city bus 16 instead of the Xpress, so it took longer but we also got to see different parts of the city along the way. We got to the airport around 7 & headed back to Bewley's. We rested a but then went down to the restaurant for a late dinner (chicken skewers, salad & chips for me, sausage & chips for MM and wings & chips for Nathan). We talked about having a Guinness but were so tired opted to wait until the next day. We went up to the room and all showered and settled in for the night. Got a good nights sleep and now we're getting things together before we head back to the airport to pick up our car rental. Say prayers for all of us that we survive the adventure of driving opposite of how we're used to driving.

Until next check-in... Cheers!!

P.S. Please excuse any typos. Working from my phone.
